Wilhelm Stauf (1831-1906)
After the death of company founder Eberhard Stauf his son Wilhelm Stauf took over the management of the Leimfabrik STAUF, a glue factory, in 1862. Wilhelm was also known to be very active in charities that looked after people in need.
As an entrepreneur Wilhelm Stauf recognised the signs of the times early and gave up the unprofitable tannery business. He began concentrating on the development of iron ore mines instead and, together with his son-in-law Emil Peipers, took a stake in a casting factory which is still in business today.
