A sportive automatic Geneva wristwatch with annual calendar, moon phase and 24-hour display, fitted with a rare sector dial - sold on November 11th, 2008 - with original box, leather wallet, Patek Philippe certificate, operating instructions and brochures
Case: 18k white gold, glazed push back. Dial: two-tone silvered.
Patek Philippe’s reference 5396G was first launched to the public in 2006. Regardless of the 356 individual parts that make up the annual calendar - which is certainly not the standard - the timepiece is extremely comfortable to wear and intended for everyday use. The watch was designed to close the gap between a "normal" calendar watch - which needs to be set every month - and one fitted with a complicated perpetual calendar. Reference 5396G-001 features a two-zone sector dial with three apertures for day and month at 12 o’clock and the date at 6 o’clock underneath the moon phase dial with 24-hour indication. Following an intuitive tradition, the design of the dial is nevertheless modern and elegantly beautiful. The blued hands provide a marvellous contrast to the silvered surface with the oversize "PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE" lettering.
