Omega Seamaster "Anakin Skywalker", Movement No. 32201912, Ref. 145.023, Cal. 861, 44 x 51 mm, circa 1971
An extremely rare "cult" Omega - "Anakin Skywalker", sold on December 23, 1971. This watch was part of the "Omegamania" auction, which took place in Geneva on April 14 and 15, 2007 - with Omega certificate
Case: steel, tungsten coated "1200 Vickers" bezel, screw back, "Omega" crown, "Omega" steel bracelet with deployant clasp, bracelet length 155 mm, total length 200 mm. Dial: black/blue, tachy scale.
Omega Reference ST 145.0023 was launched in 1970. One of two watches in the durable metal collection, this watch has had its bezel bombarded with a coating of tungsten, which is a hard, scratch-resistant metal. The movement in these watches is "suspended" in a separate container within the case between two o-rings, to afford maximum shock protection. This reference is called the "Anakin Skywalker" by collectors.
