An unusual quarter repeating hunting case pocket watch, delivered to Andreas Huber, Kgl. Hofuhrenfabrik in Munich
Case: 14k gold, engine-turned, monogrammed, gold dome with engraving: "J. Barth & Fils, Genève". Dial: enamel. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, Swiss patent no. 6099 "Montre à répétition à quarts, perfectionnée" (Quarter-repeating watch, improved) according to Mathey-Tissot, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, screw compensation balance.
Joseph Barth & Fils was a watch manufacturer from Geneva at the end of the 19th century. Joseph is mentioned in Geneva in 1862. His sons Louis and Charles took over the company later.
