Gabriel, London, 107 x 70 mm, circa 1725

A hexagonal quarter repeating table clock with quarter hour self strike and alarm
Case: brass, firegilt, moulded, the sides with screwed on silver windows, silver winged paw feet, top with engraved shellwork decoration, rear bell, string for repeater. Dial: silver, champlevé, inlaid radial Roman hours, central alarm disc, blued hands. Movm.: hexagonal brass movement, firegilt, engraved foliate decoration, signed, chain/fusee for going train, 2 barrels for striking train and alarm, baluster pillars, 3 ornamented hammers, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, florally engraved and pierced balance cock.

Gabriel in London
Gabriel is registered in London in the 1st half of the 18th century as a maker of hexagonal table clocks. One of his pieces can be seen in the Prague art museum.
