A fine and small turret clock with hour strike
Case: brass, firegilt, square, curved base, punch mark beneath the dial. All sides richly engraved with ribbon decoration and foliage. The four corners have columns with serpentines, acanthus decor and Corinthian capitals. Bell on top with engraved ribbons and foliage, surmounted by Fortuna (presumably with former taut sail), small slide to set the alarm on or off. Dial: Front - applied hour chapter dial with Roman numerals "I-XII" and Arabic 24 hours as well as applied hour knobs for time reading by night, elaborately engraved centre, decorated with foliate scrolls, blued steel hand, winding arbor. Back - hour strike control dial with Arabic numerals, blued iron hand, winding arbor. Movm.: iron frame, iron going train, gut/fusee for going and striking train, 2 barrels, 1 day power reserve, 2 hammers, locking plate for strike mechanism, verge escapement, iron rim foliot with hog's bristle.
