A very fine, extremely rare cruciform shaped watch with full calender and enamel figure of Christ on the back side Case: brass, gilt, push button to the side to release the hinged top lid, on the back side a central polychrome painted enamel panel depicting Christ on the cross, the vertical arm of the cross with loop. Dial: five enamel dials: centre dial indicating hours and minutes with radial Roman hours and gold "Poker & Beetle" hands; upper dial for the date, the right dial showing months and their lengths, the one below for lunar calendar; underneath aperture with florally decorated bars for visible balance; the dial to the left with days of the week and planet of the day. Movm.: cross-shaped full plate movement, keywind, gilt, chain/fusee, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance.
Tite Leschot (1762-1823) was the brother of the famous Swiss watchmaker and mechanician Jean-Frédéric Leschot.
