A very fine pair-cased verge pocket watch with retrograde chapter dial and moon phase Case: outer case - silver, polished, large lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, polished. Dial: silver, champlevé, inlaid retrograde Roman hours, dial aperture for rotating blued disc with engraved sun and moon, date aperture at "6", signed, baluster-shaped single gold hand. Movm.: fine full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, applied engraved and pierced ornaments, chain/fusee, square baluster pillars, three-arm brass balance, fine engraved balance cock with mascaron.
Roger Dunster Roger Dunster worked in partnership with Christopher Clarke from 1722 until circa 1730, from this time Dunster is recorded working under his own name. Dunster died in 1747.
