A very fine, rare Baroque "Pendule Religieuse" in the Hague tradition with half hour / hour self strike
Case: wood, ebony veneered, moulded, 4 ornamented brass feet, rectangular windows to the sides, glazed front door flanked by two stylized Corinthian pilasters with gilt base and capital, broken arched pediment with bell on top. Dial: hinged brass dial plate, applied gilt brass chapter ring with inlaid radial Roman hours, matted centre, blued hands, finely cast and gilt cherub spandrels, very finely engraved signature plaque below. Movm.: square brass full plate movement, firegilt, 1 barrel for going and striking train, keywind, 1 hammer, baluster movement pillars, 2 day-movement, locking plate, verge escapement, short pendulum.
