F.P. Journe, "Invenit et Fecit", "Chronometre a Resonance", Case No. 285-02R, 38 mm, circa 2003

A gentleman's very fine and rare dual time chronometer wristwatch with resonance-controlled twin independent gear-trains movement and power reserve
Case: platinum, screwed on glazed back, seconds hands synchronized by the crown at "4", platinum buckle. Dial: 18K pink gold, two eccentric silvered engine-turned chapter dials with Arabic numerals and auxiliaryr seconds, fan-shaped 40 hours power reserve indicator, blued steel hands. Movm.: 1/2 plate movement, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 37 jewels, two independent gear-trains, twin Glucydur-balances.

"Chronometre a Resonance"
The model "Chronomètre à Resonance" is the only wristwatch in the world that is based on the physical phenomenon of resonance; it was introduced in 2000. The watch is able to reduce the negative effects of the bearer’s movements with its construction of two balances that synchronize using the resonance effect and naturally beat alternately.

François-Paul Journe
François-Paul Journe was born in Marseille in 1957 and graduated from the Paris School of Watchmaking in 1976. His uncle was a renowned restorer of antique timekeepers and François-Paul joined him after his graduation. He was given the opportunity to work on immensely important vintage pieces and designed and created unique pocket watches to customers’ specifications. Journe also built complications for distinguished watchmaking companies.
Journe established a workshop in Geneva in 1996 and continued to design and produce mechanisms for renowned brands. In 1999 Journe finally launched his own brand under the label "F.P. Journe Invenit et Fecit".
