Cartier "Triptyque" / Majestic Watch Co., Case No. 01594, 35 x 54 x 27 mm, circa 1928
A very fine, rare diamond-set Art Deco miniature travel clock with concealed triptyque dial Case: 18k gold and onyx. Rectangular, engine-turned in a striped pattern, the front with two hinged shutters opening via a diamond-set handle to reveal the three section chapter dial; winding crown in the base. Dial: three sections, silvered, radial Roman numerals, engine-turned centre, signed, gold baton hands. Movm.: bridge movement, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, signed Majestic Watch Co., 15 jewels, 8 day-movement, compensation balance.
