Case: 18k gold, polychrome Cloisonné enamelling, the case band with Champlevé enamel on a pink ground, glazed movement. Dial: enamel, radial Roman numerals, centre seconds, blued spoon-shaped hands. Movm.: bridge movement Lepine caliber, steel, mirror-polished, signed, keywind, going barrel, steel train, duplex escapement, three-arm steel balance.
Vaucher Frères à Fleurier
Founded by Alfred Vaucher at Fleurier. After his death in 1840 the sons Alfred, Edouard and James-Henri continued the business and specialized on dealing in Chinese clocks. In 1843 they opened a branch in Kanton and later another one in Shanghai. Also a ship's chronometer dated around 1860 and signed "Vaucher Frères" is known.
