Dial: silver and firegilt brass, top part with floral engraving, outer applied brass ring, inner silver chapter ring with inlaid Roman numerals, silver alarm ring with Arabic numerals, silver date ring; central silver disc with floral engraving and opening for moon phase, finely engraved silver hour and alarm hands, iron hand for the minutes. Movm.: brass, firegilt, applied pierced foliate decor, signed, 3 lavishly florally engraved barrels, chain/fusee, verge escapement, locking plate, pierced click work, ring balance with hog's bristle, large florally engraved and pierced balance cock, 2 hammers with engraved knobs. class=Normal> class=Normal> Michel Schultz (recorded 1600-1650, died 1674) class=Normal> Schultz trained with David Koerner and in 1631 took over Koerner’s position as town clock maker, which he kept until his death. In this capacity Schultz, his journeyman and his appretice were responsible for the maintenance of the clock and the bell of the town hall’s tower; he also occasionally worked on the musical mechanism (in 1632 for an annual wage of 100 marks, in 1639 for 200 marks). Schultz produced numerous table clocks, most of which were horizontal table clocks.
