Case: tortoiseshell, florally engraved oval silver plaque to the centre revealing the singing bird, slide for opening the cover, back with folding panel to conceal the key compartment. Automaton mechanism: rectangular, full-plate, rounded pillars, bellows, bird with moving beak, wings and tail in front of a pierced and engraved gilt plate.
