An exquisite gold enamel Bonbonniére "Bouquet of Summer Flowers"
Case: gold, case maker’s mark "RL&C" (Rémond, Lamy & Co.), later hallmark for gold.
Circular box, allover engine-turned wave pattern and translucent cobalt clue enamelling. The independant lid has an enamel medallion studded with half pearls that shows a very fine miniature painting: a bouquet of summer flowers on a stone table, columns of a temple and a parkland setting in the background. Lid, sides and bottom rim with blue, white and gold Champlevé ribbons on a black ground.
