A decorative, small miniature verge pocket watch in agate case Case: agate/18k gold, applied borders decorated with engraved and chased volutes and scrollwork, diamond thumb piece, large lateral hinge. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, signed, gilt hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, applied floral decorations, signed, gilt, chain/fusee, baluster movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, very finely engraved, pierced balance cock.
John Faver Faver is recorded as working in London in 1753. Among his known pieces are an agate watch, and a repoussé watch in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
