A decorative gold enamel verge pocket watch with matching chatelaine with signet and key in its original box Case: 18k rose gold, the back side decorated with gold paillon stars on a translucent cobalt blue, engine-turned ground, the bezels with white enamel borders with gold flowers on a blue ground. Dial: enamel, radial Arabic numerals, signed, Louis XVI hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, signed, gilt, chain/fusee, solid movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, fine florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
This timekeeper was created by Charles Le Comte, who had his business at Quai des Ormes in Paris from 1789 until 1820; he had been a maître-horloger since 1785.
