Rolex "Oyster Perpetual Chronometer", Movement No. N8475, Case No. 315417, Ref. 3372, 32 mm, circa 1945
An attractive rare automatic Rolex "bubble back" with extensive documentation
Case: steel, screw back, screwed "Rolex Oyster" winding crown, reeded index bezel, flexible riveted steel "Oyster" bracelet "I/62". Dial: silvered, luminous Arabic numerals, centre seconds, blued luminous hands. Movm.: rotorwind movement, rhodium-plated, ground, "patented super balance".
The documentation of this watch is likely to be quite unique considering its age. It includes the following papers:
- a bill of sale from 12.06.1945, made ​​out to Lt. Richard K. Schroeder
- the original warranty card by Rolex Geneva from 12.06.1945
- the original transition receipt dated 06.04.1945 for the used mechanism N8475
- the official explanation for the "Bulletin de Mârche"
- a leakproofness certificate of Rolex Geneva
- three deposit receipts for invoice amount of USD 267.50
- a confirmation of the transfer by Credit Suisse in New York on 17.08.1945
