A very rare and as new half hour / hour repeating carriage clock with one-minute tourbillon, half hour / hour self strike, calendar, alarm and two-tune musical movement - limited edition, no. 100 of 150 pieces, made in 1989 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Maison L’Epée - in its original box
Case: brass, gilt, "gorge" case, profiled base and cornice, the side doors set with Limoges painted on enamel panels of ladies by master enameler "P. Bonnet, ME (Master Enameler), Limoges" made after the painting "Young Ladies of the Village" by Gustave Courbet; facet glazed front, back and upper part, hinged carrying handle, pusher for repeating mechanism, musical movement in the base playing two tunes, including "An der schönen blauen Donau" ("The Blue Danube") by Johann Strauss II. Dial: enamel dial with radial Roman hours and aperture for moon phase and lunar calendar, signed, two subsidiary enamel dials for the indications of the day and the date, small subsidiary enamel dial with Arabic numerals for alarm, engine-turned and gilt dial mask with applied plaque engraved "1839-1989", blued Breguet hands. Movm.: rectangular brass full plate movement, gilt, signed, keywind, 11 jewels, 2 hammers / 1 gong, solid round movement pillars, 3 barrels for going train, hour strike and alarm, foliate engraved platform with lever escapement and polished gilt one-minute tourbillon carriage, Glucydur screw balance, fine florally engraved balance bridge, shock protection for balance.
