A most decorative Renaissance wall turret clock with hour strike and alarm and magnificent engraving
Case: firegilt brass and iron, square shape, front and two sides with lavish engraving of strap work and floral decoration, top mounted bell, the corners with finials, in between, engraved open work arches with foliage scrolls, the back of the clock has a lug and hooks for attaching it to the wall. Dial: applied hour chapter ring with Roman numerals "I-XII" and raised pins for reading the time in the dark, below alarm disc in the centre with engraved foliage scrolls, Roman numerals, single iron hand. Movm.: iron frame, iron weight driven going train via cord, 2 hammers, locking plate for striking mechanism, verge escapement with large iron rim foliot, side mounted alarm.
