A gentleman's important and rare Geneva wristwatch the first Patek Philippe serial production wristwatch with perpetual calender and moon phase, sold on February 28th, 1947 - only 210 examples were produced from 1941 to 1952 - with Patek Philippe extract from the archives
Case: 18k gold, push back, 18k Patek Philippe gold buckle. Dial: silvered, applied gold indexes/Arabic numerals, window for day and month, chapter ring for date, cobalt blue enamelled moon phase disc with inlaid golden moon and stars. Movm.: bridge movement, Glucydur screw balance.
Ref. 1526 was produced in 210 examples from 1941 to 1952, with the Caliber 12'''-120 QP, the majority in yellow gold, rarely in pink gold, with only one example known to date in stainless steel.
This model hardly ever comes up for sale and embodies the appeal of a vintage model of this rare reference in original condition. The dial with its long Patek Philippe signature shows tiny traces of oxidation and is a perfect example of such a classic wristwatch in its original condition - by all means a highly sought-after collector's piece.
