博物館絕佳品質的雙層錶殼卡羅素馬車鐘,附二問,每刻鐘報時,鬧鈴及日期
Andreas David Weyher in Danzig, 126 mm, 1350 g
, circa 1760A pair-cased quarter repeating coach clock with quarter hour self strike, alarm and date, of museum quality
Case: outer case - silver/brass/horn. Inner case - silver, rear bell. Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, chain/fusee, 4 barrels, 2 hammers, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance.
This outstanding carriage clock in a horn-covered and lavishly ornamented silver case has a finely wrought, partly open work inner case. The inner bezel is made from gilded brass with exquisite floral engraving and the movement has three engraved barrels for the striking mechanism and the alarm.
It is assumed that Andreas David Weyher was the son of watchmaker Johann George Weyer, who was born in Gdansk around 1727 and who later apprenticed with Johann Heinrich Wiegendorff. In our last auction we presented a carriage clock with hour strike, hour repeater and alarm by Johann George Weyer (lot 211/92nd auction) that was sold for about 32,000 euros.
