Omega "Speedmaster Professional Apollo XI", Case No. 77003318, Ref. 3560.50.00, Cal. 1861, 42 mm, circa 1999
A rare wristwatch with chronograph, 30 min. and 12h counter, auxiliary seconds and tachy bezel, sold on August 27th, 1999 - limited edition no. 6113 of 9999 pieces, specially made to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the first moon landing - with original box, original certificate, guarantee card, operating instructions and brochures
Case: steel, screw back with embossing and engraving "Hello Houston, Tranquility Base Here, The Eagle Has Landed July 21, 1969 02:56 GMT", Hesalite crystal, solid Omega steel bracelet ref. 1498/840 with endlinks stamped 840, bracelet length 150 mm, total length 195 mm. Dial: black.
The Speedmaster reference 3560.50.00 was launched in 1999 on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the moon landing; it was produced as a limited and numbered edition of 9,999 pieces. The caseback bears the embossed mission emblem and is engraved with the first words Neil Armstrong spoke after the landing as well as with the date and time of man’s first step on the moon. Reference 3560.50.00 was the only "Moon Watch" available for sale from April to December 1999.
