Lot 310

Lagier, Geneva, Case No. 10458, 50 mm, 92 g, circa 1850
A decorative Geneva pocket watch in a so called "Cabriolet" case, wearable as a lepine or as a savonnette watch
Case: 18k gold, lavishly hand-engraved and engine-turned. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, screw compensation balance.
The outer case is allover extravagantly engraved with floral décor; the gold virtually glitters in the deep, perfectly preserved engraving of the inner ring. The guilloche pattern of the inner lid is also in immaculate condition. The watch case itself is decorated with the motif of an arched structure surrounded by lush vegetation on engine-turned ground.
