Case: 18k rose gold, glazed movement. Dial: enamel. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, ébauche: Adolf Schneider, gold screw compensation balance.
The case of this pocket watch was made by C. A. W. Crosby in Boston. Charles Augustus Wilkins Crosby was born in 1831; he worked for the company Burbank & Co. in Boston for some time before setting up his own business as a watchmaker and jeweller. He later became a partner of Edward Rivett in the Faneuil Watch Tool Company. Crosby died in 1894.
