A diver's rare automatic wristwatch with date
Case: steel, screw back, reeded turnable bezel. Dial: black. Movm.: rotorwind movement with ball-bearing, Glucydur balance.
In 1958 Eterna created a wristwatch that took its name, inspired by the Inca sun god, from the balsa wood raft Thor Heyerdahl used in 1947 for his famous journey across the Pacific Ocean from Peru to the Polynesian Islands, which he undertook to prove that such a journey was possible. The watch was to become Eterna’s most robust and reliable model.
