Case: mahogany. Dial: silvered. Movm.: brass movement, 64 mm, spring detent escapement according to Thomas Earnshaw, inner brass case, bimetallic chronometer balance with 2 screws and 2 movable trape.
This small-sized ship’s chronometer by the famous Charles Frodsham (1810-1871) has a slightly weathered dial and fleur-de-lys hands, which are unusual for this type of chronometer. The timepiece exudes the feeling of fine yachtsmanship that is emphasised by the elaborately finished case with its pristine ivory badge, the brass fittings and the unusual holder for the original key.
