Rolex's connection to tennis began in 1978 when Rolex became the Official Timekeeper of the Wimbledon Championships, the oldest and most prestigious Grand Slam tournament in the tennis world. It is held every summer in London for two weeks and brings together the world's leading players on the green turf. In 2009, Rolex introduced the Rolex Datejust II, ref. 116333, with a slate grey dial and striking Roman numerals in black and green. At Baselworld 2016, an updated version was unveiled, the reference 126303 with a power reserve extended to 70 hours and manufacture calibre 3235, which Roger Federer chose to wear for his record eighth Wimbledon title.
