A rare German pair-cased verge pocket watch
Case: silver. Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, chain/fusee, three-arm brass balance.
German watchmaker Antoine Nicolas Delolme (1752-1836) was maker to the court at Brunswick. Delolme, a descendant of a Swiss watchmaking family married the daughter of Brunswick maker Franz Christian Schwarz in 1780. The couple had 10 children, with six of them surviving. The youngest son Henry Delolme was born in 1799 and became a watchmaker in London.
