Breguet à Paris, No. 50, Case No. 43467, 45 mm, 54 g, circa 1833
An elegant and ultra-thin quarter repeating pocket watch, sold on April 24, 1833 to Monsieur Rodas for 850 Francs
Case: 18k pink gold, engine-turned, numbered and signed gold dome, case maker's punch mark "EW". Dial: two-colour silvered, engine-turned. Movm.: bridge movement, keywind, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, cylinder escapement with original ruby cylinder, three-arm brass balance.
The quarter repeater is activated by pulling out a button in the pendant, turning it and then pressing it down again.
According to Emmanuel Breguet, head of the Breguet heritage departments in Paris, this watch was completed in 1833 and sold to Mr. Rodas in the same year.
