An exquisite skeletonized, enamel decorated Directoire mantle regulator with visible balance, full calendar and half hour self strike
Case: brass frame with fine engraved ormolu moulds, white marble and blue enamel. White rectangular marble base on four toupie feet with gilt bead and reel decorated border. Two parallel arches on fluted bases; front arch with opaque cobalt blue enamelling and gold star ornaments, signature "Gs Joly". Surmounted by an eagle on branches. Dial: enamel chapter ring, Arabic numerals, centre seconds, inner date with blued pointer, skeletonized centre, gilt and engraved double serpent hands with sun pointer, opaque cobalt blue enamelled bezel with golden stars, framed by a gilt border with chased decor. Similar enamel subsidiaries below, left: days of the week with corresponding planet symbols, right: date, below: moon phase and moon age. Movm.: skeletonized circular brass plate movement, 2 barrels, 1 hammer / 1 bell, count wheel, 8 day-movement, pin pallet / pin wheel escapement, ring balance, balance spring with adjusting device.
