A representative minute repeating hunting case pocket watch with chronograph, concealed erotic scene and enamelled family coat of arms of the House of Wuerttemberg
Case: 18k gold, à goutte, the front lid with a polychrome enamel monogram "EW", royal crown, badge of the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called and motto: "Famam extendere factis" ("We extend our fame by our deeds"), the back lid with the enamelled family coat of arms of the House of Wuerttemberg, gold dome with a polychrome enamelled erotic miniature, pusher for chronograph at "12", slide for repeating mechanism. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, blued Breguet hands. Movm.: bridge movement, frosted, gilt, finely ground and bevelled chronograph steel parts, ratchet wheel, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, wolfteeth winding wheels, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device, counterpoised lever.
The hunter case of this watch shows the Württemberg Crown as well as the Order of St. Andrew, which was at the time the highest order of the Russian Empire; the symbols are connected by a band with the inscription: "Famam extendere factis".
This symbolizes the strong family connections between the Kingdom of Württemberg and the House of Romanov.
