An impressive quarter hour repeating carriage clock with quarter hour/hour self strike and alarm - with original leather travel case
Case: silvered and gilt "Anglaise" case, bracket feet, profiled base and cornice with a surrounding gilt pattern, the corners decorated with finely cast 3/4 columns with flutes, gilt bases and Corinthian capitals, handle with fluted middle part, facet glazed on all sides, button for repeating mechanism, lever for choosing between "Striking" and "Silence" in the base. Dial: eccentric enamel chapter dial with blue radial Roman hours, a small chapter dial with Arabic numerals for alarm below, gilt and engine-turned mask, secret signature, blued spade hands. Movm.: rectangular brass full plate movement, gilt, keywind, 3 hammers / 2 gongs, 8-day power reserve, solid round movement pillars, 3 barrels for going train, strike and alarm, platform with English lever escapement, screw compensation balance.
