An extremely rare Glashuette half hunting case pocket watch in a silver case made for the British market
Case: silver. Dial: enamel. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, screw compensation balance.
Bright & Sons, Scarborough
The renowned jewellery store was established in 1857 by the Bright brothers in Scarborough. The family lived in Sheffield and had a reputation as jewellers and goldsmiths since 1786. Soon after its opening the shop won several prizes for its creations such as awards at the York exhibition in 1866 and the London exhibition in 1872. Bright & Sons counted many distinguished members of the local community amongst their customers.
The range offered by Bright & Sons included several interesting watch manufacturers in London as well as Lange & Soehne.
