LeCoultre, Swiss, Case No. 20427, 27 mm, 30 g, circa 1900

An attractive Swiss Art Nouveau gold enamel pendant watch studded with pearls
Case: 18k gold, polychrome enamel. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, screw compensation balance.
Exquisitely open-worked back lid with lily of the valley ornaments, studded with nine pearls, which reveals the gold cuvette underneath with its lavish polychrome enamelling. The finely scrolled ornamentation on the pendant is a superb example of Fin de Siècle style.
Jewellery dating from the Art Nouveau period was produced from circa 1895 until around 1910 and is very rare. The most popular designs were inspired by natural forms and structures such as plants and flowers and the female form, with great emphasis on curved lines and shapes.
