A rare vintage wrist chronograph in practically new condition with unusual black dial sans tachymeter scale
Case: steel, screw back, bidirectional rotating bezel with 60 minutes /12 hours division. Dial: black.
In the U.S., this vintage chronograph has always been called the "Shark", while in Europe it is known as "Vogue".
The "Shark/Vogue" reference E2643 is part of a limited range and was designed by Jaeger-LeCoultre in the late 1960s – it was their reaction to an increasingly demanding world of sports chronographs. Despite its prestigious name the E2643 only had limited commercial success, so that the production was discontinued after just a few years; the market was saturated by the brands Omega, Heuer and Rolex.
