A rare, very fine religieuse pendulum clock in the Hague tradition with half hour / hour strike
Case: walnut veneer, partly ebonized, moulded base, oval windows to the sides, glazed front with cast ormolu foliate and flower head mountings; cast ormolu flower and acanthus appliques concealing the bell. Dial: hinged dial plate, applied gilt brass chapter ring with inlaid radial Roman hours set on a blue velvet surround. Pierced and very finely engraved hands. Engraved signature plaque below covering an aperture for the controlling of the pendulum. Movm.: rectangular brass movement 110 x 100 mm, signed, large barrel, locking plate, verge escapement, keywind, baluster-shaped movement pillars, cycloidal cheeks, short pendulum with silk string suspension.
