A small, fine French hour striking lantern clock
Case: brass, firegilt, 4 round corner columns with baluster-shaped bases and capitals, 2 plain side doors, the two sides with pierced frets on top, the front with engraved maskaron and floral patterned fret, 4 bow-shaped hoops, bell, crowned by a baluster. Dial: brass, firegilt, richly engraved with foliate and floral patterns, chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, Fleur-de-Lys iron hands. Movm.: brass wheel movement, solid plates and pillars, weight driven via cord and counter weight for going and striking train, verge escapement, applied locking plate on reverse side, 1 hammer / 1 bell, short pendulum.
