A fine quarter repeating gold enamel pair-cased pocket watch
Case: outer case - gold enamel, florally engraved, cobalt blue enamelled inlays, pierced edges, case maker's punch mark "PG", large lateral hinge. Inner case - 18K gold, the back cover richly engraved, depiction of a bird and a rocaille, pierced band, ornamented with an engraved mask and a landscape, pusher for repetition via pendant, rear bell. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, Louis XVI hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, applied engraved ornaments, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, 2 hammers, moulded movement pillars, cylinder escapement, three-arm steel balance, fine florally engraved, pierced balance cock with mascaron, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
