August Bacher
August Bacher from Schondorf was engineer at the court in Stuttgart and took over Christoph Matthaeus Hahn’s workshop in Stuttgart after his death in 1833. We know of several high quality watches made by Bacher, some of which have been created in the tradition of Hahn.
There is a pocket watch with jewels by Bacher (described as "a very elegant pocket watch with jewels") with an escapement requiring no oil, which was supposedly invented by Bacher. The timepiece we have here could very well be that watch.

#39043
Case: very good, slightly worn
