Deutsche Uhrenfabrikation Glashütte SA - A. Lange & Soehne, Glashütte B/Dresden

, Movement No. 76131, Cal. 43, circa 1918

A rare Glashuette "display window watch" with 30h power reserve indicator sold on 12/10/1920 to Otto Prengel in Wurzen for 500 Marks (inflation!) - with Lange extract from the archives and Lange & Soehne service invoice of 08/27/2013

Case: mahogany box, sunk, screwed brass bowl, reeded lid, back with knob. Dial: silvered, frosted, inlaid radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds, 30h power reserve indicator, blued spade hands. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, frosted, gilt, signed, 15 jewels, gold screw compensation balance, index spring fine adjusting device, gold lever and escape wheel.

Shop window clock:
Jewellers often placed clocks in their shop windows. This was not only meant for advertising the clocks but also provided a service for the public in a time when the exact time of the day was not always readily available. That is why shop window clocks were always precision clocks. As fas as we know there are only two shop window clocks produced by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashuette.
#39225

Dial: very good, slightly oxydized
Movm.: very good, small restaurations, capable of running
