An important table clock with pivoted detent escapement, half hour / hour self strike, constant force "remontoire d'égalité", moon phase and power reserve indicator
Case: walnut, four gilt disc feet, base with gilt palm frieze, facet glazed front and top. Dial: gilt, engine-turned, eccentric silvered hour dial with engine-turning and inlaid Roman numerals, sector for 8 day power reserve indicator, silvered seconds dial at "12" with blued moon phase disc and moon age, blued Breguet hands. Movm.: rectangular brass full plate movement, gilt, keywind, 1 hammer / 1 gong, going train with maintaining power, 2 barrels, chronometer balance with 2 weights, platform with pivoted detent escapement.

The highly talented Auguste Louis Berthoud was a grandson of famous maker Louis Berthoud.
