A decorative quarter repeating pair-cased Augsburg coach clock with alarm
Case: later outer case - silver, applied shagreen, sound holes, large lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, repoussé decoration, battle scene showing German and French soldiers on horseback; open work rim, baroque style volute and rococo ornamentation, cartouches showing wildlife in four continents; rear bell, pusher for repetition via pendant, large lateral hinge. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, central alarm hand, pierced gilt hands. Movm.: full plate movement, applied, engraved, florally pierced decorations, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, Egyptian movement pillars, lavishly florally engraved barrel for alarm, 2 hammers, verge escapement, three-arm steel balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock.
