A very fine French Louis XV boulle bracket clock with quarter hour / hour repeater
Case: wood, tortoiseshell veneer, brass acanthus inlays, ormulu appliqués: acanthus, rocailles and masks; an applied flower tendril below the dial; four feet with volutes, glazed door and sides; bell top with corner balusters, crowned by a flamed vase on a three-hoofed stand; string for repetition. Corresponding bracket. Dial: brass, gilt, chased decor, enamel cartouches with blue radial Roman numerals, finely pierced iron hands. Movm.: rectangular brass movement, signed, baluster-shaped movement pillars, 3 hammers, 2 bells, 1 barrel, keywind, verge escapement, pendulum with silk string suspension, cyclodial cheeks
