A very fine and decorative miniature mantle clock with original box and watch key
Case: silver, gilt, engine-turned pattern and translucent enamelling. Light blue square base with bevelled edge, in the centre a fine small pink-coloured miniature mantel clock on a square plinth with fluted shaft, festoon. Pearl on the top. Dial: enamel, Arabic numerals, blued spade hands. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, 8 days power reserve, keywind, frosted, gilt, 15 jewels, lever escapement, screw compensation balance.
Edouard Henry Dreyfous
Edouard Henry Dreyfous, originally from Paris, had premises in New York and Paris; his main shop, however, was in London. He sold furniture, antiques and objets d'art; some of the latter bore the company's stamp. Both Queen Alexandra and Queen Mary were patrons of Dreyfous and he was the holder of a royal warrant.
