Case: 18K gold, polished, turning pendant, case maker "HMF" (Harrison Mill Frodsham), gold dome with presention engraving: "Presented to ERNST KÖRTING by the Board of the Emperial Continental Gas Association in grateful recognition of valuable services rendered by him to the Association. 1st April 1881-1st April 1931", slide for repeating mechanism.. Dial: enamel, off-white, radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds, signed, numbered 2/9193, blued spade hands. Movm.: 4/5 plate movement, chatoned, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, diamond endstone on balance.

Ernst Körting (1842-1921)
Ernst Körting was an important German ingenieur and buisinessman.
Koerting graduated in the field of railway construction from the polytechnical institute in Hanover at the age of 22. He worked in various European countries and in 1871 founded the "Gebrueder Koerting" company together with his brother Berthold. The company still exists today. Ernst Koerting developed a working gas-injector and later produced other types of steam jet-pumps.
