, Movement No. 7311, 66 mm, 567 g, circa 1811An extremely heavy pair-cased verge pocket watch made of solid silver - with a heavy pocket watch chain of solid silver (365 mm, 135 g)
Case: outer case - silver, polished, à goutte, five-piece lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, polished, case maker punch mark "MA" (possibly workshop of Mary Atkins). Dial: enamel, Arabic numerals, arrow-shaped hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, chain/fusee, three-arm steel balance, very finely engraved pierced balance cock with mascaron, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
This must be the heaviest normal-size pocket watch we ever had at one of our auctions.
