A rare deck chronometer with spring detent escapement
Case: silver, polished, gold hinges. Dial: enamel, signed, numbered, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, blued spade hands. Movm.: bridge movement, frosted, gilt, compensation blance with gold and platinum screws, blued balance spring with terminal curve, sapphire endstone on balance and chronometer wheel.
August Ericsson
August Ericsson was a well reputated Swedish watch maker and retailer having his business in St. Petersburg, starting 1865 died 1915. He used only top of the line movements like Ullusse Nardin, IWC Longines and even Victor Kullberg in his pocket watches and ship's chronometers. Delivered watches to the Csar and his family and the Russian Navy.
