A rare pair-cased quarter repeating verge pocket watch
Case: outer case - silver, pierced edges, engraved and chased volutes and scrollwork, à goutte, case maker's punch mark "MR" (Mary Reasy, Compton Street, Soho, London), large lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, pierced edges, engraved flower, volutes and scrollwork, two cartouches with engraved mascaron and a landscape, rear bell, case maker's punch mark "MR", pusher for repetition via pendant. Dial: enamel, radial Roman hours, blued "Poker & Beetle" hands. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, applied floral decorations, chain/fusee, conical movement pillars, 2 hammers, three-arm steel balance, finely pierced balance cock with engraved maiden's head, mythological birds, flower tendrils and a mascaron.
