An early pendant watch from Bordeaux


Case: silver, elaborately engraved with Renaissance foliate decor. Dial: silver, Champlevé, inlaid radial Roman numerals, very fine ornamental engraving in the centre: flowers, a barking dog and a bird flying up from the flowers, single blued filigree hand. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, applied floral decorations and click work, firegilt, signed, gut/fusee, pierced flower pillars, worm and wheel set up, verge escapement, iron ring balance, florally pierced balance cock.

Epaphras Landreau is also recorded as parish priest of Castets-en-Dorthe from 1679 until 1685 erwähnt.
